Forklift Bearing Story

YHS BEARING’s main product is forklift bearings. We supply to Doosan Industrial Vehicle (independent from Doosan Infracore in 2011), the No. 1 forklift manufacturer in Korea, and Hyundai Heavy Industries, the No. 2 manufacturer in Korea. Even in a forklift, the key parts are the mast, carriage, and supply part that can carry the load from the front, but those parts should have lifted heavy objects, and they can leak up and down while submitting objects that need external bearings. Although it is hard to see in the video, the part that holds the fork and carriage moving up and down along the mast without falling off is the bearing. Among the forklift trucks, there are small forklift trucks, ranging from 1-ton capacity (which can lift 1-ton loads) that are used in warehouses and controlled while standing, to large ones that can lift large structures at construction sites and can lift over 50 tons. General standard bearings, not special bearings for forklifts, are standardized and produced and sold on the market. It is mainly used to hold the axis that rotates in the structure. In general, many of them are used in high-rotation and low-load operating environments. On the other hand, forklift bearings have very different characteristics from general bearings. It moves at a relatively low speed as it slowly rises and falls along the raceway inside the mast. However, since the weight of the lifting objects is all applied to the bearings, they not only have to operate under high loads, but also withstand extreme shock loads depending on the working environment. This is because if the fork strikes the floor, wall, or object in the process of lifting and putting down an object, the impact is directly applied to the bearing.
